Nate Oglesbee, M. Ed.
Nate has over 15 years of experience working with young adults and teens in a variety of settings: athletic coaching, outdoor education, wilderness therapy, residential treatment, and on academic campuses. He sought out LifeTutors because he's often seen clients and families get stuck when it comes time to put words into action. Because of this, Nate strives for a practical, real-world approach in working with clients that's relevant to their lives.
He believes that there are useful lessons to be learned in everything from a lecture or classic novel, to practicing a sport or instrument, to video games and Taylor Swift lyrics. No matter the goals or medium, Nate aims to facilitate a process that involves planning, action, and reflection.
Originally from Minnesota, Nate has a BA in Cultural Anthropology and a M. Ed. in Outdoor Education. Besides Minnesota, Nate has lived in Colorado, Utah, Australia, and Namibia. He re-settled in Asheville four years ago and now calls it home. You'll be likely to find Nate out on a trail run, at a trivia night, or doing a deep dive into some obscure historical event!
