Heather Chizmadia

MS

Heather earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Master of Science in Health Education from Southern Connecticut State University. She has over 22 years of experience working with children, teens, young adults, and adults in a variety of educational and coaching settings. Her background includes special education, health and adult education, homebound instruction, educational assessment, tutoring, and executive functioning & life coaching. Throughout her career, Heather has worked with individuals with a wide range of learning and developmental needs. Her experience as an educator naturally led her into coaching, where she focuses on helping clients identify their strengths and needs, develop practical strategies, build confidence and independence, and work toward achievable goals.

Heather works with teens and young adults who need support with executive functioning, life skills, and becoming more independent. She helps clients with planning, organization, prioritization, time management, task initiation, procrastination, goal setting, and accountability. Heather takes an individualized approach, helping each client identify their strengths and challenges and develop practical strategies that work for them in everyday life. She has experience working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, and learning differences, and enjoys helping clients build confidence and become more successful and independent.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, traveling, staying active, and spending time outdoors. She values health and wellness and enjoys incorporating fitness and an active lifestyle into her everyday life. Most of all, she enjoys spending time and making memories with her family.

Throughout her career, Heather has had the opportunity to work in a variety of educational and coaching roles, from special education and adult education to executive functioning and life coaching. One of her proudest professional accomplishments was creating the Learning Connections program at Marvin Ridge High School to support students with autism and help them develop skills for greater success and independence. Heather is also proud of her more than 22 years of experience helping individuals with diverse needs build confidence, develop practical skills, and become more independent. She holds a Master of Science in Health Education and has additional licenses and certifications in Exceptional Children, health education, personal training, and nutrition.
