Geri attended Boston University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a focus in Public Relations.
Geri has a strong background in academic coaching from the Arden Reading Clinic, where she tutored for eighteen years. Most recently, Geri worked in education and engagement at the Asheville JCC, where she worked primarily with adults and young families, offering connection and cultural programming. During her six years at the Asheville JCC, Geri has nearly doubled the size of the children’s free book program, tripled the attendance of the brunch and learn program, and co-built touchpoints for community elders. With her warmth and enthusiasm Geri embodies the JCC joy, learning and community.
Geri’s favorite skill set is being able to think about tasks, strategies, order and timing while performing those tasks. Having strong executive functioning skills supports her coaching work by allowing her to teach similar strategies.
In the summertime, Geri spends her free time growing veggies in her garden. Year-round, she can be found in her back-yard green house, growing herbs, flowers and veggies.
