Coach Spotlight: Becks Logan

We know that our LifeTutors are the driving force behind our organization, as they are the people on the ground, supporting our LifeClients. All of our LifeTutors bring unique skillsets and talents to the table. Each one is so integral to the overall function of our team. We love to brag on our own, so this month we didn’t hesitate to sing some praise for one of our long-time coaches, Becks Logan. Becks just graduated early this month with a fascinating degree, and we are sure she is going to make waves in our field. Want to know what exactly Becks has been up to? Check out her interview below!

I always show up for our clients 100% to meet them where they are and help them get where they want to go.

Where are you from? How long have you been in town? What do you love about Asheville?

My childhood was in Brevard, my adolescence was in Greenville, SC. I moved here 6 years ago. I love the weather, the outdoor accessibility, and my community.

What is your vocational/educational background?

Worked at SUWs of the Carolinas for 3 years until I became a Master Field Instructor. Then I worked two summers as their aftercare coordinator. I worked at the Willows at Red Oak Recovery off and on for a year and a half as a clinical technician and lead wilderness guide running their Friday-Sunday adventures. I have worked with LifeTutors and as PIVOTPoint WNC’s Program Manager and now Program Director for almost two years.

What drew you to work with LifeTutors? How long have you been with LifeTutors?

I met one of the original founders at a conference and was offered a job. It’s been almost two years now.

What are some of your skills and specialties you bring to families at LifeTutors?

I am a google calendar jedi, organization pro, and I can help find the resources to make any goal a client has happen for them. I’m positive, supportive, and have 6 years of experience in the mental health field. I always show up for our clients 100% to meet them where they are and help them get where they want to go.

What makes you motivated to wake up and go to work?

I love working in the mental health field and I especially love coaching because helping people reach their end goals is my greatest passion.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I used to be a fire performer for a circus in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Who is your ideal client?

I can work with anyone who is willing to invest in themselves, and if they aren’t willing yet–I can help them investigate where that comes from and help cultivate willingness.

What has been your biggest accomplishment(s) with a LifeClient at LifeTutors?

Getting one of our clients successfully into school, work, and working on navigating healthy relationships.

Congratulations on your recent graduation! Tell us about your degree.

Thank you! I just finished my bachelor in psychology with a neuroscience minor at UNC-Asheville. I won the Neuroscience Scholarship Award which meant that I was the top student in Neuroscience across the board this year both in GPA and in “potential to affect the Neuroscience world”.
