recovery coach enjoying life on the golf course or tennis court

Michael Cutts

Michael attended school at UNCW, earning a BA in Communication Studies.  He is also a Recovery Coach Professional.
Michael began his journey in the addiction and mental health field after getting a close friend into treatment. This experience led him to join the team at New Waters Recovery, working as a Recovery Advocate, Care Coordinator, and Mental Health Assessment Coordinator. The success of these positions relied heavily on clear and loving communication with clients, families, loved ones, and treatment facility professionals. He enjoyed this so much, he decided to take a giant leap and created Sherpa Recovery, a full service coaching, companioning, and sober transport company.
Michael started his personal recovery journey at 37 years of age. His professional goal is to help as many young adults avoid the pitfalls that come along with active addiction and living a “failure to launch” lifestyle. Firmly on the “other side” of addiction, he has seen first hand how beautiful life is if you do the work.
Michael is a full time dad, husband, and certified golf and tennis fanatic. You can find him either running errands all over Raleigh or making sure things are all good at home. In his free time you can find him on the golf course or a tennis court.
