Jenny attended school at Western Carolina University and received a masters’ degree in Clinical Mental Health.
She discovered her love for guiding and supporting others early in her career as a raft guide in 2003. The experience of working closely with people in the outdoors, combined with a transformative National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) course, sparked her passion for leadership, collaboration, and helping others navigate challenges while finding grounding and peace in nature. In 2004, she carried this passion into wilderness therapy, guiding preteens, adolescents, and young adults in building resilience, emotional awareness, and life skills through experiential, nature-based work.
After earning her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2013, Jenny expanded her practice to include Mobile Crisis response, intensive outpatient and in-home programs, and ongoing wilderness therapy roles. Today, in her private practice, she blends her love of experiential learning, trauma-informed approaches, and collaborative mentorship to support teens, young adults, and adults as they explore identity, navigate life transitions, and cultivate resilience, confidence, and a sense of personal empowerment.
Jenny works with adolescents, young adults, and adults to support personal growth, emotional regulation, and life transitions. She integrates trauma-informed therapy with coaching and mentorship, using evidence-based approaches such as ACT, parts work, and NARM, alongside experiential and wilderness-based methods. Jenny specializes in helping clients navigate identity development, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and develop practical coping skills. Through this combination of therapeutic guidance and hands-on coaching, she helps clients gain clarity, confidence, and the tools they need to create meaningful, authentic lives. In her free time, Jenny enjoys exploring waterfalls with her Schipperke pup, Clark Kent. She has an affinity for tea and sharing tea with others. Her favorite food is usually Thai food and she hopes to someday visit Thailand!
Jenny’s professional and personal journey is enriched by international experiences that reflect her curiosity and commitment to social impact. She spent six months in India living part of that time in an Ashram, six months two times in Guatemala traveling with clowns for social change, and several trips to Peru working alongside Indigenous communities in the Andes. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking to waterfalls with her one-year-old Schipperke puppy, exploring Thai cuisine, and indulging her passion for tea—interests that bring curiosity, connection, and adventure into her everyday life.
