Martin Harper
Martin F. Harper Sr. is a Peer Support Specialist certified by the State of North Carolina. He is an ordained minister and community activist, volunteer, and mentor. He is currently the Youth Director at Chosen Generation Community Outreach Deliverance Center, High Point, NC; under Bishop Steven Kenan and Pastor Tamara Kenan. He has also mentored/spoken to thousands of young people, students, and groups over the years including time as a volunteer mentor/lecturer with Communities in Schools of High Point as well as Thomasville. Martin has interacted with young people over a wide range of environments from the streets of High Point to Chicago to Thomasville. He has received formal training in counseling, addiction counseling, and family ministry. He has also received formal training in non-profit management, finance, and governance. He was the founder and president of One Hundred Men Praying, an organization set to energize men to be spiritual leaders in their households and in community service. One Hundred Men Praying and Martin were once recognized with the “Volunteer of the Year Award” from Communities in Schools of High Point in 2012. He is an Air Force veteran who spent 4 years as a Law Enforcement Specialist.
He is married to Antionette “Angel” Harper. They have raised 7 children together, have a host of grandkids, and frequently conduct marriage, parenting, family, and youth centered workshops as a team.
