nutrition and wellness coach

Rachel Frank-Tuomey

MS, CHHC

Rachel brings more than 20 years of experience in nutrition, wellness education, and communications, with a career dedicated to helping individuals make informed choices and develop healthier, more sustainable habits. She holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Stony Brook University and is a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Throughout her career, Rachel has held leadership roles in publishing, wellness, nutrition education, and marketing, including serving as Director of Wellness and Marketing for a leading school foodservice organization. In this capacity, she worked closely with students, families, educators, and culinary teams to support individualized dietary needs, navigate food allergies and celiac disease, and ensure students felt confident, included, and empowered in their school environments. Her professional experience also spans private wellness coaching, health education, writing, and content development. With a strong foundation in communication and a passion for making complex information accessible, Rachel frequently creates practical, individualized resources that help clients translate knowledge into everyday action. Today, through her private practice, Life in the Fresh Lane, Rachel continues to support individuals seeking greater confidence, balance, and sustainable lifestyle changes. Her coaching philosophy centers on meeting people where they are, building trusting relationships, and helping them develop the skills, routines, and self-awareness needed to thrive.

Rachel has created innovative wellness programs and resources throughout her career, including a wellness newsletter, reaching 60,000 readers, and an employee wellness initiative that combined nutrition education with fitness to encourage healthier habits. She also spearheaded the development of a proprietary database connecting schools and culinary teams to better manage students’ specialized dietary needs and ensure safe, inclusive dining experiences. Equally meaningful to Rachel is her ability to continually reinvent herself professionally while raising three children and working full-time. Most recently, she has expanded her private practice to support individuals navigating gastrointestinal health challenges, collaborating with physicians to bridge gaps in patient education, adherence, and advocacy.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys life on Long Island with her husband, three children, and dog. She’s a beach girl who loves whipping up plant-based recipes, practicing yoga, running, and curling up with a good book. Creative at heart, with roots in writing and design, Rachel is always learning, growing, and finding inspiration in everyday life.
