Maria Aguilar

Maria earned her Masters in Social work from The Jane Addams School of Social Work at The University of Illinois at Chicago. Maria has 8+ years of experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum. Since 2020, Maria has been working as a social worker, helping individuals and their families meet therapeutic goals and achieve their fullest potential. 

Maria has experience working with young adults and teens that need help developing their social skills, emotion regulation, behavior management, and vocational planning. Maria really likes to take a motivational interviewing approach, as well as social skill training to help individuals reach their goals. Additionally, Maria has been successful at leading social skills groups for young adults and a sexual education and dating group for young adults.

Outside of work Maria enjoys spending time with her hedgehog, Olivia, and bunny, Oliver. Maria also really likes to volunteer in her free time and you will often see her at Best Buddies events.
