Kelly earned a Bachelors in Psychology at SUNY Albany and then began her career in human services as a teacher’s assistant, supporting neurodivergent and displaced teens who struggled in traditional school settings. Her journey continued as a resident counselor in a group home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and later as a ‘house parent’ for girls in residential foster care. In that role, she wore many hats—serving as a mentor, coach, and cheerleader. Her path then led her to become a Family Support Specialist, where she assisted parents and their children entering the foster care system with reunification plans and visits. In partnership with their case managers, she assisted families with essential support systems tailored to their specific needs, including mental health resources, substance abuse recovery, and parenting education. As a person of support and advocate of people who at times felt challenged by circumstances or overwhelmed by a situation, Kelly has learned that when an individual’s uniqueness and strengths are acknowledged, celebrated, and expanded upon, anything is possible.
Kelly’s coaching style prioritizes breaking down larger tasks and goals into smaller, manageable steps. She believes in taking the time necessary to build confidence, ensuring each individual feels comfortable before moving on to their next success. For Kelly, the process of working towards one’s goals can, and should, be fun. Kelly approaches challenges with creativity and, whenever possible, humor—grounded in the belief that creating the life you want should feel good. She is passionate about empowering everyone, especially teens and young adults, to identify and focus on their unique talents. By building on these strengths and creating momentum through small wins, Kelly’s goal is to help her clients achieve meaningful, long-term changes with the aim of expansion into all areas of their lives.
Kelly loves movie nights, especially in a theater. An active member of Atlanta’s creative community, she takes improv and acting classes whenever possible. She enjoys gardening and is striving for the ever-elusive seasonal perennial garden. Kelly also finds relaxation in working with mixed media, especially creating art and “junk” journals, with some her favorite moments spent in messy arts and crafts sessions with her niece. Kelly also enjoys any time spent with her two little fur-babies.
