Jen Hyman

B. A. Education
Jen has worn many hats throughout her work as an educator and nanny. She has often found herself acting as a teacher, a nurse, a counselor, and a coach. One of her favorite aspects of these roles is teaching life skills, such as explaining right from wrong, encouraging critical thinking, helping children plan and stay organized, and much more. Coaching children is what intrigued her about LifeTutors, as individuals are always growing and improving throughout life. Jen would love the opportunity to coach and support as many people as possible, no matter their age.
Jen is very relational. She says, “you can’t build trust without building strong rapport.” Once there is trust, Jen can find what the participant truly cares about, i.e. what their priorities are in life. Then, Jen and the participant can work together to take action to reach the participant’s goals.  Jen is social and active. It’s part of her daily routine. In her free time she enjoys improv classes, hosting game nights with her Meetup group, and practicing yoga. Oh yeah, she also loves comedy and anyone that can make her laugh!
Jen’s professional accomplishments include working with children for high-net-worth families and teaching for three years at an elementary school. Through these roles, she has developed strong skills in mentorship, communication, and supporting growth and development. Jen’s personal accomplishments include rock climbing a 5.10 and being selected for an improv show after auditioning! These experiences reflect her dedication, perseverance, and willingness to challenge herself and grow both personally and creatively.
Jen Hyman received a BA in Education at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington
