Chad Pierre

Chad attended school at the University of Florida for a Master of Science in Health Education and Behavior. Chad was employed as a language assistant which helped him develop interpersonal skills to connect with students from other countries and make a plan for them for the semester to reach their goals. As an intern at UF HealthStreet, Chad was able to work as a community health worker and link the elderly population in Gainesville to health services. Today, Chad works as a Health Educator at FIU where he helps students set healthy living goals. Through motivational interviewing, Chad helps students find the motivation to make a positive behavior change by exploring their experiences and perspectives.

When he is not working, Chad likes to visit and try new restaurants around the city. Chad is a big fan of sports so he can spend a good amount of time talking about soccer, american football or basketball. He also loves to read and started a bookclub with his friends. As the Volunteer Coordinator at HLP (FIU), Chad was able to revamp the program. The program welcomed 20 participants this past semester and students have shared that it is a safe space contributing to their growth.
