NCRC-II, CPS-AD

Alison Broderick is a Nationally Certified Recovery Coach (Level II), a Georgia Certified Peer Specialist in Addictive Diseases (CPS-AD), and the founder and owner of The Recovery Coach, LLC, based in Atlanta. She is professionally trained to support individuals actively pursuing recovery from a wide range of mental health challenges. Alison provides clients with the tools, structure, and support needed to establish a solid foundation in recovery. Her client-centered approach and strengths-based support empower individuals to find their voice, voice their truth, and become the driver of their own lives. Alison began her own recovery journey in April 2011. Having worked in the mental and behavioral health industry since 2012, she has witnessed remarkable transformations take place when individuals and family members are willing to do the work. She received her national recovery coach certification in early 2018 from The Addictions Academy, and became a Certified Peer Specialist in Addictive Diseases (CPS-AD) through the Georgia Council for Recovery in May 2019. Alison also holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Georgia State University.

Alison works as a recovery coach, supporting young adults and individuals navigating life transitions while strengthening their mental and emotional well-being. Drawing from both professional training and lived experience, she utilizes a strengths-based, relational approach that emphasizes accountability, emotional awareness, and practical skill-building. Her work integrates evidence-based coaching practices such as goal setting, motivational interviewing, and behavior change strategies, while also addressing underlying drivers of behavior, including attachment patterns, identity development, and emotional regulation. She helps clients establish structure in their daily lives, build sustainable routines, and develop tools for navigating triggers, relationships, and decision-making. In addition to working directly with clients, she also supports families by providing insight into relational dynamics and offering guidance on healthy communication and boundaries. Her approach is individualized, meeting each client where they are and helping them move toward long-term growth, stability, and freedom.

Outside of her work, Alison enjoys a mix of quiet, creative time and meaningful moments with family. She loves giving plenty of cuddles to her 6-year-old Goldendoodle, Teddy, and often spends time listening to podcasts and audiobooks. When her two sons, ages 22 and 20, are home visiting, she values every opportunity to be together. Alison also enjoys participating in sporting clays tournaments with her husband, Matt, a dedicated firefighter of 37 years, with whom she has shared 15 years of marriage. She also enjoys exploring thrift stores and antique shops in search of unique finds. In her downtime, Alison is drawn to creative expression through playing the piano, singing, and writing.

Alison brings a diverse range of professional and personal accomplishments that reflect both her creativity and her commitment to helping others. She is a published children’s book author of “Samuel Stanley Scotty Snight” and “Marcy Mabel Mollie McMann,” showcasing her passion for storytelling and meaningful communication. Early in her career, Alison gained media experience through an internship with ABC’s “Good Morning America,” as well as a morning radio show in Atlanta, where she performed under the character name Mary Richards. She has continued to use her voice and platform as co-host of The Recovery Coach Podcast, contributing to conversations that support and educate those in recovery. In the behavioral health field, Alison holds credentials as a Nationally Certified Recovery Coach (Level II) through The Addictions Academy and as a Certified Peer Specialist in Addictive Diseases (CPS-AD) through the Georgia Council for Recovery (GC4R). Her personal recovery journey, which began on April 11, 2011, remains one of her most meaningful accomplishments and continues to inform the work she does today.
