Sara is originally from Maryland. Sara received her Masters in Art Therapy from Drexel University.  Working in inpatient psychiatric facilities for a number of years in Philly, Sara realized she wanted to learn how else to be of service to those struggling. In 2014 she moved to Asheville to work in Wilderness Therapy.  Her time in the woods really solidified Sara’s conviction that nature is an important element to health and well-being.  In 2017, Sara transitioned to a substance abuse recovery program for young adult

women, providing logistics, operations, and Art Therapy groups, later moving into the role of Program Manager, supporting and training staff to provide the best service and care for the clients.

Sarais excited about the work through Life Tutors, being able to provide on-the-ground education and support to get young people feeling stronger in their daily lives.  Sara lives by a motto from her late Grandmother, “Is it good for society?”  Choosing to base many life decisions on this statement, Sara knows helping Life Tutors clients feel more capable and confident on their own two feet is definitely good for society.

Sarae enjoys hiking, drawing, painting, yoga, dancing, and working on her house in the woods.  When not involved in these activities, you can find Sara chilling on her couch with a good book and her cat in her lap.
