Cecy Tavarez
Cecy has over 15 years of experience in schools and social service settings/mental health as a bi-lingual (Spanish/English) therapist and as a high school teacher where she taught Social studies. She works with a variety of individuals ranging from teens, families, and couples from different backgrounds. She believes that authenticity, compassion, and commitment are some of her greatest tools when working with others. Her passion is to serve others with love, teach self-love, and inspire others to cultivate inner connections so they could live a more fulfilling and healthier life. In her role as a coach with LifeTutors, Cecy’s focus is to help build healthy family relationships, develop better communication styles, and self-exploration through awareness. She also aims to inspire individuals to gain insight into their issues empowering them to make positive changes. She conveys hope and provides tools to those struggling with life’s many challenges. She values diversity and is a highly culturally sensitive coach. She works in a school setting with a small group of students assisting them with transitional inventory, addressing academic challenges, their interests, and providing social and emotional support. She is driven by a desire to make a difference, helping others to build strong relationships, emotional stability, and eliminating negative beliefs.
Cecy is originally from the Dominican Republic and began her education in New York and finished in Florida, where she is currently residing. Her interest in psychology and human behavior during her undergraduate work led her to pursue a degree in Mental Health Counseling. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Webster University and she received a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2016 from Troy University. Family is a very important aspect in her life, and she raised 3 wonderful children. She enjoys spending time with her family, working out, doing yoga, traveling, and cooking.
