Ben Marchman

Ben has an undergraduate dual degree from Brevard College in both Environmental Studies & Wilderness Leadership/Experiential Education. From Montreat College he has a MS in Environmental Education. Currently, he is attending Prescott College(online) where is pursuing a MS in Counseling with an emphasis in somatic psychotherapy and a certificate in nature based counseling.

Ben has experienced many different careers before being a clinician. These careers have ranged from being a wilderness field instructor at multiple wilderness therapy programs to being schoolteacher, to a business owner and professional life coach, and to an ecologist. After becoming a clinician, he worked for many years in the fields of addiction treatment, trauma, and co-occurring disorders.

Ben's approach is a blend of psychodynamic, somatic, and existential therapies. His strives to collaborate with clients in order to set solid goals in order to move positively forward to create deeper life impacts. His goal for each session is to create a safe place where clients can explore their needs and find value in the journey. Within that place there is a deeper understanding into one's values, gifts, and purpose in life.

Ben loves spending time with his two kids and wife on the farm where they live. You can also find him riding his mountain bike, whitewater kayaking, or geeking out about a bird flying by. Ben's passion is to help his clients achieve what he likes to say as 'true life value'. Ben believes that we all come into this world with a set of instructions and it’s these instructions that guide us towards our highest purpose. His goal in working with you is to help you find these instructions and give you the confidence to share them with the world.
